Happy that such an app exists. Our toddler who we suspected to be on the spectrum before his second birthday has been using this app for about the past 6 months. He turned three not long ago and has been learning how to communicate using the app with the help of his therapists. I really like that it can be customized for early learners such as my toddler. For now, we all swipe the page for him to access the rest of his icons. I would love it if the ability to swipe left to right were included since he is able to do that with no problem.

I purchased a iPad mini and loaded Proloquo2Go on it. She is picking it up fairly well to my delight. This program on the recommended intermediate is so expansive.
I love how you can customize it. I wish I had done this years ago because we would be on a better speech ground by now. Please to all who have similar circumstances do not delay whether the child has speech or not make the worthwhile purchase of a speech program. Far too complicated. Difficult to tailor. I asked for a refund. If you have a typical child that needs some help, this may be perfect. If you have a non-verbal severely autistic child, save your money instead. Please know that it is possible to set up a new user in Proloquo2Go with a blank vocabulary with a grid of three or four buttons. However, it is recommended that a grid size be selected based on what an AAC user can see and touch and not based on cognitive skills, receptive language or what we think a person can do.
So, it is actually good to provide access to a wide vocabulary and slowly teach a person the meaning of words and the location of words through modeling. This is considered an AAC best practice.
