But I find it to be the best base movie to use as an editing starting point because of the great work Harmy did, and the high quality. Personally, I can live with that because I just want to see how the movie feels with that context added. While I absolutely appreciate the preservation of history when it comes to Star Wars, I also really enjoy what Scene 38 Re-imagined brings to the table.
Especially coming right off of how Vader behaved in Rogue One. I feel like this re-vamped Obi-Wan Vader fight does a better job of weaving in the feeling of strife between the two Jedi masters into A New Hope. Knowing their relationship from Revenge of the Sith, makes the Scene 38 Re-Imagined edit rather powerful. It's nice to see Biggs and Luke re-united in the Rebel hangar for a moment before they go take on the Empire, so I took that scene from the blu-ray as well. I also think that the Special Edition Death Star explosion is better than the original explosion.
It seems a tad bit more grandeur than the original, which I think it needed to be. One of the few additions Lucas made that I actually enjoyed. Well, that's about it I think. There's two scenes that have been released missing, another Palpatine and Anakin scene, and another Obi-Wan and Anakin scene speaking of that though the scene with Palpatine and the Senators is really good and should of been kept, the other scenes of that subplot aren't as strong but should of also been kept so Padme would of had more to do in III than be Anakin's love interest and die.
